Sunday, 26 February – Spirit Songs Symphony Premiere in Canada
PERFORMANCE OF ‘SPIRIT SONGS SYMPHONY’ for Soprano/s and Orchestra IN WINNIPEG – 26 FEBRUARY 2023
Chamber Orchestra Musaic, under the auspices of Chamber Orchestra Without Borders Inc., is a non-profit organization promoting the cultural mosaic of Winnipeg through orchestral music. The organization has been in operation for 15 years and is led by artistic director/conductor, Larry Strachan.
The next concert, ‘Shall We Gather: Orchestral Music by composers of African descent’, will be held on Sunday, February 26, 2023 at 3pm. It will take place at Bethel Mennonite Church, 465 Stafford Street. The concert will include works by Fred Onovwerosuke (Ghana), TJ Anderson (USA), Jenny Peña Campo (Cuba), Shirley J. Thompson (UK), and Adolphus Hailstork (USA). Featured soloists include Charlotte Siegel (soprano) and Zilla Jones (mezzosoprano).
Canadian Heritage and The Manitoba Arts Council have provided support for this project.
